Course Overview

During this instructor-led workshop attendees will learn how to configure BNG features on the Cisco ASR 9000 platform. The workshop is suitable for attendees with no prior experience with IOS XR or ASR 9000. It starts with an overview of IOS XR and prepares students for day to day work with IOS XR. The workshop continues with an overview of BNG functionality on the ASR 9000 platform, covering both PPPoE and IPoE sessions. Subscriber features which are explained include session initiation and authentication, security features, QoS, PBR, HTTP redirect. During the workshop the participants will be able to try various scenarios in the lab environment tailored to mimic different designs of service provider access network.

Who should attend

  • Network engineers new to broadband network gateways
  • Network engineers with prior basic knowledge of broadband network gateways but new to ASR 9000 and IOS XR.

Prerequisites

The knowledge and skills students should have before attending this course are as follows:

  • basic understanding of IP networking
  • basic understanding of SP network topology
